Hualifeng spiral ducts · resolve material and assembly duty

The official item identifies stainless/galvanised circular ducts but leaves sheet gauge, diameters and test class open; make those choices explicit before ordering.

01 / UNDERSTAND THE EQUIPMENT

Convert a photo-led spiral catalogue into a complete duct schedule

Hualifeng’s 青岛螺旋风管 item describes stainless and galvanised-sheet circular ducts for air circulation. Its one repeated product photograph shows three upright metal spiral tubes with Hualifeng branding. No readable model plate, diameter, sheet thickness, connection detail or duty table is visible. This is a fabrication family, not one rated model.

The text’s “5–107 μm thickness” statement does not say whether it refers to coating or base sheet. It is retained as an unresolved wording issue rather than used as a structural gauge. The same page’s low resistance, low noise and rigidity claims have no measured values or identified test conditions; selection needs an actual material/dimension/pressure schedule.

Selection and application review

Separate sheet gauge from surface protection

Ask the supplier to identify base material, grade, actual sheet thickness/tolerance and any galvanised or other protective coating separately. The micron statement resembles a surface-treatment quantity but the page does not label it; resemblance is not enough to assign its meaning. Require an unambiguous drawing/material schedule and traceable material documentation.

For stainless, select the grade against actual process gases, humidity and cleaning exposure. For galvanised material, specify the required coating and treatment of cut ends or welded areas. Avoid assuming that a silver exterior proves a grade or coating mass. The manufacturer’s statements about no hydrogen embrittlement/temperature effects do not replace the offered material’s mechanical/corrosion evidence.

Select diameter and construction for the installed pressure

Give the air quantities, route, fittings/branches, space and acoustic requirements to the responsible designer. The product page supplies no diameter-to-flow table. Establish the working pressure and direction, including suction for extraction, and require the selected diameter/gauge/reinforcement construction.

Smooth circular form may be useful to a duct design, but the manufacturer’s low-resistance wording is not a pressure-loss calculation. Include bends, transitions, branches, dampers, terminals and connected equipment in the system calculation. Low-noise wording supplies neither a sound level nor a measurement basis and cannot guarantee the noise of the assembled fan/duct installation.

Define joints and test strength separately from leakage

Ask which end connectors, flanges, seals and fasteners are supplied, and how fittings and equipment connections are made. A spiral seam visible on the tube cannot establish the leakage of the installed assembly. Agree the applicable test boundary, pressure, method, permissible leakage and documentation with the project designer.

The company’s original CN218098619U publication concerns a galvanised-duct strength inspection apparatus with adjustable clamping and a movable pressing arrangement. It is not a report showing that these pictured tubes passed a specified strength test, and it does not establish a leakage class. Require batch/specimen records tied to the actual construction and calibrated test equipment.

Specify the service rather than relying on nearby product categories

The supplier also lists dust-extraction, smoke-exhaust and civil-defence ducts elsewhere in its catalogue. Those category names do not extend special-duty suitability to this spiral item. Define temperature, contaminant, condensation, cleaning and any hazardous/fire duty explicitly, with the complete offered assembly and applicable evidence.

General air circulation

Resolve route, pressure, joints, sound and access with the design schedule.

Cooled air or humid surroundings

Agree insulation, vapour control and corrosion protection, including field joints/supports.

Process or fire-related extraction

Require service-specific material, cleaning and complete-assembly evidence; a neighbouring category is insufficient.

Coordinate factory sections with Qingdao site work

Hualifeng describes local non-standard fabrication, installation, commissioning and maintenance. Define whether the offer covers only tagged duct sections or an installed system. There is no published section-length menu here, so agree cutting lengths against vehicle/loading access, site openings and the route into the installation.

Confirm fittings, supports, insulation and protective construction, the responsibility for final site measurements and how late design changes are handled. The current contact page advertises all-hours availability without a guaranteed arrival/repair time; agree an actual service response and installation territory. No fixed lead time or warranty duration is established for the item.

Build a traceable receipt and commissioning check

Keep the selected drawing and material specification connected to each delivered section. Inspect for dented ends, seam damage and interior contamination, then test the assembled scope rather than signing off from surface appearance.

  1. Before fabrication

Resolve micron wording, base-sheet material/gauge, diameters, pressure, reinforcement and joint/fitting schedule.

  2. At delivery

Match tags/packing lists to drawings and inspect dimensions, material records, finish and end compatibility.

  3. After installation

Complete the approved strength/leakage and system airflow/balancing checks; hand over access, maintenance and written support terms.
