01 / UNDERSTAND THE EQUIPMENT

Specify the finned tube before asking for heat-exchanger output

Jiminghao’s official high-frequency-welded finned-tube entry is dated 2 September 2024 and presents three photographs of tube stock and truck loading. The visible items are long tubes with closely spaced helical fins and exposed tube ends. The source supplies no dimension/material schedule or numerical performance table.

This is a catalogue-family enquiry, not a documented fixed model with rated heat output. Tube outside diameter, wall thickness, fin geometry, material grades, design limits and price remain unspecified. A buyer needs an approved drawing and intended service conditions before quotations can be compared meaningfully.

The supplier separately offers complete industrial heat-exchange equipment. A length of finned tube and an assembled exchanger have different supply boundaries; headers, connections, tube spacing, air-side arrangement and casing cannot be assumed from the stock photographs.

Selection and application review

The photographs establish form, not the tube specification

The first two views show bundles of long, externally finned tubes in an industrial workshop. Exposed ends show the tubular form; the third shows handling/loading of bundles on a truck. None contains a readable size plate, material certificate or controlled drawing. Surface colour and apparent diameter are not a reliable basis for identifying steel grade, coating, wall thickness or fin pitch.

Ask for the selected drawing/revision and a dimensional schedule. The catalogue heading identifies the offered welding process, but the photographs do not measure the fin-to-tube weld or demonstrate its inspection. Confirm the proposed manufacturing and acceptance requirements directly, including how the supplied batch will be identified.

Define tube, fin and end details on one controlled drawing

A tube enquiry should establish the plain-tube diameter, wall and material grade; fin material, height, thickness and pitch; finished length; and required unfinned end sections. Add end preparation, connection arrangement and permissible tolerances. Do not let a photograph substitute for these requirements.

If the tubes replace an existing bundle, supply the actual drawing or measured assembly information and identify which dimensions are mandatory interfaces. A superficially similar tube can have different fin surface, fit and pressure capability. Ask the supplier to flag deviations rather than silently treating a neighbouring catalogue image as equivalent.

Tube body

Specify outside diameter, wall, material grade, length and intended fluid/design conditions. None is fixed by the source entry.

Finned section

Specify fin material, height, thickness, pitch, finned length and attachment requirements on the selected drawing.

Installation ends

Mark unfinned ends, end preparation, connection and support interfaces; confirm the actual assembly’s dimensional tolerances.

Thermal selection belongs to the assembled exchanger and its duty

The source gives no rated kW, heat-transfer coefficient, fluid flow or pressure-loss data. Do not infer capacity from stock length, number of tubes or the supplier’s annual-production statement. The company’s broader catalogue includes air preheaters, steam heaters and flue-gas heat recovery; these names do not make one tube specification suitable for every service.

For an exchanger enquiry, give hot/cold stream temperatures and flow, required output or outlet conditions, permitted pressure losses, design limits and actual space/connection constraints. Identify whether the tube-side fluid is water, steam or another specified medium and describe the external stream, including dust, condensate or corrosive constituents. Ask for a selection for that duty, with geometry and assumptions tied to the offered assembly.

Distinguish loose-tube supply from a complete pressure-containing assembly

The photographed tubes do not show a finished headered coil, casing, fan or complete pressure boundary. Clarify whether the supplier is delivering loose lengths, a replacement bundle or a complete exchanger. In a tube-only purchase, the party assembling the headers and connections must be identified; a tube document does not automatically cover the completed unit.

For a complete unit, request the mechanical drawing, materials, connection schedule, pressure/temperature limits and the applicable inspection/conformity documents for that exact assembly. Have the responsible project designer establish the relevant requirements for the intended installation. The catalogue does not supply a ready-to-install pressure-system design.

Loose lengths

Agree tube/fin drawing, batch materials and fabrication/inspection scope, including packaging and end protection.

Replacement bundle

Match existing interfaces, spacing/supports and service conditions; determine who performs assembly and final acceptance.

Complete exchanger

Obtain selected thermal/mechanical documents, headers/connections/casing scope and assembly-specific test evidence.

Agree inspection records before manufacturing

The image-only entry supplies no sample inspection certificate, weld acceptance criterion, pressure-test result or material traceability record. The company’s management-certificate gallery cannot replace those product documents, and the separate quality-guarantee page has no substantive public terms.

Agree the records required for the order: traceable material documentation, dimensional checks, the applicable fin-attachment inspection and the tube or finished-assembly test scope. Define test boundaries and acceptance criteria appropriate to the purchased item. Ask how nonconforming lengths are segregated and whether batch identification survives packing and delivery. Do not claim that all of these tests have already been performed merely because a production photograph is available.

Reviewed evidence

The official tube entry provides photographs and a catalogue heading, without numerical ratings or order-specific inspection results.

Protect long tubes in handling and confirm the usable delivery scope

The loading photograph shows bundled long stock on a truck. It is not a packing specification or proof that a shipment to your destination is included. Agree support points, permitted lifting/stacking, end protection and handling to avoid damage to the fins or tube ends. Confirm whether delivered lengths require cutting, end preparation or further assembly.

No fixed minimum quantity, unit price, lead time or warranty duration is established by the reviewed product entry. Obtain those terms for the approved drawing and inspection scope, including dimensional rework/replacement arrangements and responsibility for transport damage.

  1. Send a drawing and service brief

Identify loose tube/bundle/exchanger scope, geometry/material requirements, fluids and operating/design conditions.

  2. Resolve the technical offer

Compare the proposed drawing, selection assumptions where applicable, deviations and order-specific inspection/traceability records.

  3. Approve acceptance and logistics

Agree batch marking, inspection release, packing/supports, delivered length/end condition, commercial terms and written warranty.
