01 / UNDERSTAND THE EQUIPMENT

Build an interface specification from the MC-1000 evidence

Elitech identifies MC-1000 as a controller for industrial chillers and oil-cooling machines. The official product page’s illustrated description shows a main board separated from its operator panel, a 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen, RS485 communications and a labelled wiring/I/O schedule. It is a component reference, not a specification for a complete refrigeration machine.

The images provide useful detail that is absent from the short readable page text. They also use the word reserved for several functions. Those reserved features should not be sold as already active or assumed to work with every hardware/firmware version.

The next buying decision is whether the supplied revision and package match the machine’s sensors, outputs and control sequence. The exact input types, operating range, electrical conditions and protocol require an approved current manual and supplier confirmation.

Selection and application review

Separate measured signals, fault inputs and controlled outputs

The I/O table and wiring drawing identify the following groups. They do not publish a complete signal specification or state every firmware option. The count columns should be checked against the actual terminal assignment for the delivered board.

Analogue and temperature-related signals

The table names compressor 1/2 currents, chilled/cooling-water pump currents and water temperature. It also labels 4–20 mA, temperature and humidity inputs as reserved. The sensor type, scaling and calibration requirements need a manual; a reserved input is not confirmed active capacity.

Read the source

Digital status and protection inputs

Published labels include remote on/off, pump overloads, water-flow/overload labels, internal/external phase sequence, freeze protection and paired compressor high/low pressure, overload and discharge inputs. Confirm the exact terminal mapping and normal/fault logic rather than assuming contact polarity from the label.

Read the source

Control outputs

The illustrated schedule lists two compressors, two water pumps, alarm and heating, plus reserved refrigerant-solenoid outputs. Require switching conditions and any external contactors/relays in the machine design. The printed 2HP and ampere labels do not describe cooling capacity.

Read the source

Use the display examples as UI evidence, not operating limits

The publication shows real-time temperature, a set-temperature display and icons for chilled water, cooling water and two compressors. A system-management image shows password entry and example hardware/firmware identifiers. Those screens show the intended interface but do not prove the installed revision, a control range or an accuracy specification.

The illustrated 12.0°C setpoint and 23.6°C reading are examples. They are not a minimum leaving-water temperature, factory test result or recommendation for the buyer’s process.

The RS485 image also says real-time-clock functionality is reserved. Obtain the actual protocol, addressing, data map and supported clock/logging functions for the supplied version. No Modbus, Ethernet, cloud connection or remote-monitoring subscription has been inferred from RS485 alone.

The published drawing is a review input, not a wiring instruction

The wiring image labels a 9 V AC input supply, temperature-sensor connections, communications/display connections and a phase-sequence detection area. It also shows multiple mounting dimensions. The image does not replace a revision-controlled installation manual with supply tolerance, power requirement, isolation, terminal limits and mounting instructions.

Ask for the exact board/panel dimensions and cutout drawing, permitted environment, cable specifications, grounding/isolation requirements and electrical ratings. Have the responsible equipment designer match them to the cabinet and external power/safety circuits.

Do not assume the displayed board revision, supply label or output load applies unchanged to a replacement or customized package. Match the ordered model, PCB revision and firmware to the approved documentation before integration.

EMC language needs a corresponding test report

One product graphic claims industrial level-four EMC interference testing. The image does not identify a standard edition, report number, tested configuration or the individual immunity test levels in readable supporting text. This is manufacturer advertising, not independently verified model certification.

Request the applicable test report and confirm the board, panel, cables, enclosure and operating configuration it covers. Company-wide UL, FDA, EN12830 or DO-160 wording is also not evidence that MC-1000 holds each approval.

Temperature-control functions and fault inputs do not establish the safety category or conformity of the complete chiller. Require the machine’s responsible designer to identify the external protections and compliance evidence; this brief does not endorse bypassing them.

What to send for a compatibility review

This enquiry outline is editorial guidance. It helps an equipment designer get a version-specific answer rather than ordering from a front-panel photograph.

  1. Describe the actual machine and signals

Provide water/oil application, control sequence, compressor/pump/heater arrangement, sensor types and positions, digital fault signals and requested temperature duty. Request a returned I/O mapping.

  2. Define the complete controller package

Identify board, display, cables, supply and sensors, hardware/firmware revision, active versus reserved functions, communications and required electrical/mounting conditions.

  3. Obtain documents and acceptance scope

Request current manual, wiring, signal/output ratings, alarm/reset behavior, protocol map and applicable test evidence. Agree bench/machine integration checks and component-replacement support.

Current document and purchasing limits

An MC-1000 search on the official manual page returned no listed match in this session. Request the current manual from the supplier; do not substitute a neighbouring controller’s manual.

The reviewed product publication does not establish a complete sensor-accuracy/range table, electrical load-category schedule, ambient/IP rating or protocol. No price or delivery date is established. The website’s zero reference-price placeholder is not used as an offer.

The manufacturer’s service page distinguishes temperature/humidity-logger post-warranty repair from other product support, and separates overseas handling. Confirm MC-1000-specific warranty and regional support in the quotation.
