01 / UNDERSTAND THE EQUIPMENT

Build an order-specific CFMZ refrigeration selection

The official DKenergy page, dated 22 August 2023, names the CFMZ MINI (ZB) boxed condensing-unit family, CFMZ-002–006M/EM, with a 2–6 HP specification band. The product image shows outdoor-style one- and two-fan cabinets. It contains no readable compressor plate or rated-duty schedule.

HP describes the published class; it is not a kW cooling rating at your cold-room temperature. The text additionally offers ZB and ZSI compressor configurations, even though the heading names ZB. The correct selection therefore starts with one exact compressor, refrigerant and operating duty.

This is a condensing-unit enquiry rather than a complete cold-store package. Evaporator, piping, defrost, controls, protection and commissioning responsibilities need to be specified explicitly.

Selection and application review

Choose by heat load and operating conditions, not the 2–6 HP headline

State the room/process temperature and design heat load, including the intended operating schedule, pull-down requirement and evaporator conditions. Give the design outdoor ambient and the proposed refrigerant. Ask for cooling capacity and electrical input at the actual evaporating/condensing conditions, with the operating envelope and applicable derating.

The source does not supply a capacity curve, minimum/maximum ambient, evaporating-temperature envelope or low-temperature protection strategy. A 2 HP cabinet is not demonstrably suitable for a room merely because another installation uses one. Compare selections at the same declared conditions and supply boundary.

Cold-store duty

Specify room temperature, load and design ambient, then obtain a matching evaporator/condensing-unit selection.

Low-temperature service

Ask for the exact ZSI or alternative configuration, its envelope and any required injection/control provisions; no generic low-temperature rating is published.

Replacement package

Match the installed refrigerant, electrical supply, connections, controls and evaporator duty against one proposed configuration.

Resolve the ZB/ZSI and refrigerant wording in one signed bill of materials

The title names ZB; the body refers to ZB for medium/high-temperature conditions and ZSI for low-temperature use, while also allowing other compressor brands. These statements do not identify the compressor installed in any CFMZ suffix. Request the full compressor model, motor/electrical designation and oil, with the refrigerant and relevant manufacturer selection documents.

The page prints R57 alongside R134a, R404A and R22. Do not fill a purchase order with a guessed replacement designation. Have the supplier resolve that wording and state the actual offered charge/refrigerant configuration. A dated Copeland knowledge article explains that compressor model/electrical/oil designations affect refrigerant use; its legacy examples are context, not current approval of every CFMZ configuration.

Source ambiguity

A ZB heading, a ZB/ZSI body and an unresolved R57 listing require supplier clarification.

Component-manufacturer context

Copeland’s 2014 article distinguishes model and oil/electrical designations. Use the current documentation for the exact offered compressor, not a generic family claim.

Approve a cabinet drawing and service clearances

The printed dimensions are 1030(L)×410(W)×850–1250(H), without an explicit unit or model-height correspondence. The actual photograph shows different fan/cabinet arrangements, but does not establish which corresponds to the selected suffix. Require a dimensioned drawing, weight, mounting/base requirements and connection positions for the quoted unit.

The thin-wall/near-wall installation statement gives no minimum clearance. Request required condenser inlet/discharge space and access for cleaning, valves, electrical components and compressor replacement. Check the actual site for recirculation and obstructions; do not treat the marketing wording as an instruction to mount against a wall.

Construction features do not replace corrosion or acoustic evidence

The text describes internally grooved copper condenser tubes, V-wave aluminium fins, galvanised steel and a sprayed protective coating. It also describes fan blade features and a hermetic compressor as quiet-design measures. No sound pressure/power level, measurement distance or operating condition is supplied.

A stated strict salt-spray test has no published method, exposure duration, specimen details or result. Specify the actual coastal/industrial environment and require the offered coating/material schedule and relevant test evidence. The claimed 50% installation-time saving likewise has no baseline or measured report. Evaluate accessible connections and the actual commissioning workload rather than budgeting from that percentage.

Define the refrigeration system boundary and protective functions

The page mentions flare connections and stop valves, but does not establish that all receivers, accumulators, dryers, sight glasses, pressure switches, phase/overload protection or controllers are supplied. Make a parts and responsibility schedule covering the condensing unit, evaporator, line sizing, defrost, oil return and controls.

Obtain voltage/phase/frequency, maximum/current/start information, the wiring diagram and protection setpoints for the chosen assembly. Ask which factory pressure/leak/electrical checks are performed and what records accompany its serial number. These are order questions, not claims that the unpublished components are included.

Review supplier identity and order acceptance before releasing the unit

The supplier review identifies a different company on the displayed management-system certificates. Those images do not independently certify Jinxing or this CFMZ package. Confirm the contracting and manufacturing entities and request applicable unit-specific documents for the destination.

No fixed price, MOQ, dispatch time or warranty duration is verified for this family. Agree the selection, supply scope, test documents, packaging, commissioning support and defect-remedy responsibilities in the offer.

  1. Close the selection

Freeze compressor model, refrigerant, duty/ambient envelope and electrical configuration.

  2. Check site integration

    Approve dimensions/clearances, evaporator/piping/control interfaces and installer/supplier responsibilities.

  3. Accept one identifiable assembly

Check the serialised bill of materials, factory test records, instructions, service/spare-parts and written warranty terms.
