Grand LYF transformer oil/air coolers
Use a bounded product-standard declaration alongside the actual oil, air and fan/pump selection; model numbers are not a thermal test.

Select LYF at the concurrent oil and outdoor-air conditions
Grand identifies LYF as a forced-oil-circulation air-cooling family for power, furnace and rectifier transformers, with particular relevance where cooling water is scarce. Its original family photo shows three paired-fan sections on a common structure. This visual evidence establishes a family arrangement, not the model, heat-rejection rating or supplied redundancy of a future order.
A Zhejiang government-hosted declaration dated 18 May 2026 records Grand’s own commitment to JB/T 8315-2022 for transformer forced-oil air coolers. The table includes LYF-315 and other model/specification entries. No tested duty conditions are attached there, so the numbers are retained as model identifiers rather than converted into assumed kW capacities.

| Parameter | Published value | Conditions and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit and heat sink | Forced oil circulation; air heat rejection | Official LYF description; actual pump/coil/fan configuration requires the order schedule. Source |
| Declared product standard | JB/T 8315-2022: transformer forced-oil-circulation air coolers | Grand’s self-declaration on Zhejiang market-regulation portal, 18 May 2026; not independent certification. Source |
| Published model entries | LYF-315; table also references LYF-250 and LYF-160 | Model/specification strings preserved; thermal units and selection conditions not stated. Source |
| Original photo | Three paired-fan sections on a common assembly | Exact pictured model, fan motor ratings and remaining duty under failure not established. Source |
| Water-scarce-site positioning | Air heat sink rather than a site cooling-water circuit | Supplier application statement; design ambient and cooler rating still need calculation. Source |
Selection and application review
Use oil temperatures and design ambient to define duty
Send the transformer’s losses, permitted oil supply/return temperatures, required oil flow, circuit resistance and the site’s design air conditions. Require the issued thermal selection for those simultaneous conditions. The family page’s general transformer-market discussion, including a 1,500 MVA industry example, is not Grand’s delivered transformer rating or cooler capacity.
Do not convert LYF-315 or another identifier into a 315 kW promise without an issued selection explaining units and test conditions. Ask for the operating envelope, allowable loading when air conditions change and the control strategy for staged heat rejection.
Read the standard disclosure as a company commitment
The government-hosted page names the same legal entity and the relevant transformer oil/air standard. It also states that the company is responsible for the truth and consequences of its disclosure. This provides a concrete dated product-standard reference that the official product description alone lacks.
It does not show a certification decision, an independent laboratory result or a complete technical schedule. Obtain the declaration and applicable test documents for the ordered model and verify their scope. Do not extend this standard to Grand’s pure-water coolers or oil/water family.
Coordinate fans, oil pumps and transformer cooling stages
Request the selected fan and pump characteristics, motor power/supply, control wiring and oil-loop drawing. Define the transformer cooling-stage commands, temperature sensing, fault indications and changeover behaviour. The photographed fan count is not proof of remaining rated duty with one motor, section or pump unavailable.
Specify standby requirements against the actual fault and maintenance scenarios. Obtain the permissible transformer loading for the agreed degraded mode from the responsible design parties. No seamless transfer, N+1 capability or independently tested continuity is assumed here.
Lay out the air bank for the actual site
Require the current mechanical drawing, airflow direction, installation clearances, structural loads and oil/flange connections. Review recirculation, obstruction and weather/corrosion exposure against the supplier’s installation requirements. The original family photograph is useful for understanding the arrangement but cannot replace a foundation or connection drawing.
Obtain sound data with distance, duty and test basis, then assess the project’s noise requirement. ‘Low noise’ wording does not establish a numerical acceptance value. Confirm coil access, cleaning procedure, fan removal and safe maintenance isolation for the chosen layout.
Compare a current ordered cooler and test programme
Prepare a specification that combines transformer duty, ambient extremes, oil properties, electrical/control interfaces, corrosion exposure and maintenance requirements. Request a current quotation tied to the exact model and drawings, with packing, delivery, spares and service terms.
Agree oil-side pressure/leak checks, pump/fan and controls verification and thermal acceptance at explicit conditions. Independent capacity, current availability and operating reliability were not established by the reviewed sources. This individually written assessment connects Grand’s actual LYF evidence to the decisions a transformer buyer must close.
Specify thermal conditions
Provide losses, oil limits, flow/resistance and outdoor-air design conditions.
Approve the selected assembly
Close fans, pumps, stages, fault modes and mechanical/electrical interfaces.
Obtain ordered-model evidence
Agree standard conformity, test schedule and measurable acceptance criteria.
