Select a cabinet fan for the resistance it will actually see
BKB/BKBS is Laienke's cabinet-fan family for quiet supply/exhaust and purification ventilation. The official item describes a forward-curved centrifugal impeller, direct drive, floor/support mounting or suspension, and an optional brushless DC motor. Its published airflow, pressure and diameter ranges describe the family, not a single fan selected to achieve every upper limit together.
For a filtration or air-cleaning installation, the useful question is what airflow the offered fan delivers against the complete system resistance, including the dirty-filter condition if applicable. The source does not publish a selected model table or performance curve on this item. A photograph of a cabinet and its side access panel also does not establish the enclosure's acoustic rating, filter contents or weather protection. Use the documented construction as the starting point, then close the duty, mounting, motor, access and delivery scope in a written selection.
Published parameters and their scope
This is an equipment family; its range does not identify one orderable configuration.

| Parameter | Published value | Conditions and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Fan and drive | Forward-curved centrifugal impeller; direct drive | Manufacturer's BKB/BKBS family description; selected impeller and motor configuration remain to be identified. Source |
| Impeller diameters | 200–500 mm | Family range, not a statement of cabinet external dimensions. Source |
| Airflow / pressure | 500–20,000 m³/h; pressure up to 600 Pa | Separate family limits; pressure basis and joint operating point are not specified on this page. Source |
| Working temperature | −20 to 80 °C | Published family statement, without air/ambient definition, duration or derating conditions. Source |
| Motor option | High-efficiency brushless DC motor available on request | The site says motor efficiency can exceed 80%; this is not a measured whole-fan efficiency at your duty. Source |
| Mounting / intended use | Supported or suspended; quiet supply/exhaust and purification ventilation | Published arrangements; supports, vibration isolation, filtration and controls must be scoped separately. Source |
Selection and application review
Build the selection around clean and dirty resistance
The catalogue gives a 500–20,000 m³/h airflow range and pressure up to 600 Pa. It does not say that 20,000 m³/h is available at 600 Pa, or whether the stated pressure is static or total. Request the curve for the exact size, impeller speed and motor, and have the supplier mark the proposed operating point. Avoid treating the maximums as a rectangular operating envelope.
For purification ventilation, supply the duct, grille, coil or filter resistance included in your design. Identify clean and final filter resistance where filters are part of the system, and decide whether constant airflow or a changing flow is required over filter life. Have the supplier state available adjustment and absorbed power at the relevant points. Filter capacity and efficiency are not documented for this cabinet and must not be assumed from the word purification.
Define airflow cases
Record design airflow and any reduced-flow mode, including whether the process needs constant airflow as filters load.
Identify pressure basis
Separate static from total pressure; list the external resistance included and the inlet/outlet connection arrangement.
Ask for a marked curve
Obtain the exact fan, speed, power and available adjustment at the agreed clean and final-resistance cases.
Specify the motor and controls as an actual option
Direct drive is the published arrangement. The brushless DC motor is described as an optional choice, with motor efficiency potentially above 80%. That statement cannot be used as the overall cabinet-fan efficiency or as an energy comparison at the selected operating point. The source gives no voltage, control signal, speed range, starting current, EMC provision or protection class.
Have the quotation name the motor type and rating, supply, control method and protection. If variable airflow is needed, obtain a usable fan/control range rather than assuming every direct-drive version can use the same controller. Compare input power at the same airflow, pressure and density, including control losses where measured. Agree who supplies the controller and interlocks, and what happens after a loss of command or power.
Close suspension, service access and connection geometry
The manufacturer lists supported and suspended mounting. Neither label supplies a load schedule, lifting points, hanger details or structural design. Request the chosen cabinet outline, mass, centre of gravity where needed, support positions and allowable orientation. Coordinate flexible connections and vibration isolation with the installed duct arrangement. The impeller diameter is not a cabinet-clearance dimension.
The official image shows a cabinet with a front opening and side panel. It is a representative product image, not a controlled drawing for your order. Ask for the service side, removable-panel envelope and space needed for motor or impeller removal. For ceiling suspension, check that access is practical after ceilings, ducts and other services are installed. Outdoor use, casing material, insulation, fire duty and hazardous-atmosphere suitability are not established by this item.
Interpret the temperature and quiet-operation statements
The printed −20 to 80 °C working-temperature range has no stated air-versus-ambient definition, operating duration or derating method. Clarify the entering air, surrounding temperature and expected continuous duty, especially where a motor is exposed to the airstream. The range does not establish smoke-exhaust survival or permit a hazardous gas stream.
The page calls the range quiet but gives no BKB/BKBS acoustic schedule. Request noise data for the selected duty, with sound-power or sound-pressure basis, measuring arrangement and any enclosure or attenuation included. Laienke's separate laboratory page describes background-noise and measurement-position controls; it is useful for specifying the report, but not a BKB/BKBS test result. Room or boundary noise also depends on the installation and cannot be inferred from the marketing description.
Return a quotation that can be inspected at delivery
Ask the supplier to return an exact model and cabinet revision, marked performance curve, motor/control schedule, outline and support drawing, casing/access specification and an inspection plan. State whether filters, isolators, flexible joints, controller, supports and installation are included. That makes two offers comparable on the supplied assembly, rather than on two unrelated maximum airflow numbers.
At delivery, compare identification and interfaces with the approved documents. During commissioning, record airflow, agreed pressure basis, motor input, rotation and control response under the agreed installed conditions. The official service page generally excludes on-site technical service from quoted fan prices and distinguishes HVAC from engineering warranties. Confirm which category this order uses and the acceptance milestone in the contract; this page promises neither a delivery date nor a particular warranty decision.
