Dunham-Bush's central integrated cooling station is a water-cooled plant built and performance-tested in the factory, covering 379–1773 kW of cooling. It ships as one unit or as modules for assembly on site. Several compressor heads share one refrigerant circuit, and a PLC with touchscreen runs the plant, with DBbox remote monitoring as an option. Efficiency levels and cooling, heat-pump, storage and recovery modes can be chosen.
Dunham-Bush says the station cuts installation cost, programme time, space and energy, and gives a compressor design life of 100,000 hours. For a quotation, send the load profile, the operating modes you need and the site access and utility details, and ask for an equipment list with a clear line between factory supply and site work.
This is an equipment family; ask the manufacturer to select the model that matches your duty.
Swipe the table, or focus it and use arrow keys, to read the conditions and sources.
| Parameter | Published value | Conditions and sources |
|---|---|---|
| Cooling range | 379–1773 kW | Ask for the rating of the selected package as a whole. Source |
| Delivery | Factory-prefabricated whole unit or modules | Shipping split and site work are shown on the issued drawings. Source |
| Refrigerant circuit | Multiple compressor heads on one circuit | Ask what capacity remains if the circuit or one head fails. Source |
| Controls | PLC/touchscreen; optional DBbox | List the points and remote access you need. Source |
| Savings described | Cost, time, space and energy savings advertised | Ask for the baseline behind each figure for your project. Source |
Ask for a full equipment list, P&ID and interface register covering chillers, heat rejection, pumps, water treatment, power distribution and controls. Mark each item as supplied, optional or provided on site. The product rendering shows a long assembly; the scope of your station comes from this list.
If the station replaces an air-cooled plant, check water supply, heat rejection, structural space and service access. Moving to a water-cooled package changes the system and needs a full design.
Get module weights and sizes, lifting points, access route, foundations, pipe and cable joints and the tests repeated after reassembly. Agree who transports, lifts, assembles, charges and commissions each section. Prefabrication moves work into the factory; your programme saving depends on the site.
Ask for factory test records that match the shipped configuration, and list the tests repeated once the plant is assembled on site.
Send load profiles and the cooling, heat-pump, storage or heat-recovery modes required. Ask for capacity, input and water and utility demands in each mode, and the rating basis for the efficiency level chosen.
Ask what stays available if one compressor, the shared refrigerant circuit, a pump, the controller or a power feed fails. Several heads on one circuit are not the same as independent circuits, so plan backup at plant level. Agree shutdown, recovery and supervisory priorities.
Fix the PLC points, touchscreen functions, alarm history and DBbox access. Define what can still be run locally without remote monitoring. Agree maintenance, spares and service duties for the whole package.
At acceptance, record useful cooling or heat, total electrical input and site auxiliary loads at stated conditions. Measured results, not the advertised savings or design life, go into the handover file. Price, lead time and warranty come with the quotation.
Equipment list, assembly state and witnessed tests.
Utilities, lifting, connections and repeat testing.
Modes, fault availability, controls and the energy boundary.
Before ordering, get written answers on: the equipment list and P&ID; the shipping modules and their weights; tests done in the factory and repeated on site; capacity and input in each mode; what runs after a compressor or circuit fault; the PLC point list and DBbox access; the basis for the 100,000-hour design life; and warranty and lead time.
