Verify the site heat source before choosing module capacity
BWHP-E and WCSHP are related modular ground/water-source heat-pump offers, compared together here. BWHP-E lists 30, 40 and 50 kW sizes and describes an internal hydraulic module for villas and small commercial buildings. WCSHP lists 20 and 30 RT sizes and a broader low-grade source list including soil, groundwater, surface water, reclaimed water and wastewater. Both describe fully hermetic scroll compression, modular arrangements and optional building/group controls.
The pages do not supply simultaneous source/load-side temperature ratings, groundwater permissions, ground-loop design or domestic-hot-water heat-exchanger schedules. WCSHP's performance value up to 5.0 lacks an inspected test boundary. Both use free-hot-water and tower-elimination claims, which do not establish zero-energy domestic hot water or permission to connect arbitrary water directly. These family choices need a site source assessment, selected hydraulic separation and an annual heating/cooling balance before machine sizing.

Selection and application review
Assess the actual ground or water resource
Issue seasonal source temperatures, available flow, water composition and extraction/rejection constraints. Obtain the project ground-loop or water-source design and any required site permissions through the responsible project parties. The manufacturer's source list does not establish local availability or suitability.
Balance annual heating and cooling loads with the source system. A nominal module size cannot determine a borefield, source pump or long-term ground temperature. Define which supplier or designer owns each calculation and acceptance result.
Specify source separation and hydraulic contents
Request materials, water-quality limits, pressure drops and whether an intermediate exchanger/treatment system is required. Do not route untreated wastewater through a selected clean-water circuit merely because wastewater appears in the source list.
For BWHP-E, obtain the actual internal hydraulic module component list, pump duty and external connection requirements. For WCSHP, confirm flow proving, listed as an option, and pump/valve responsibilities. Specify isolation, filling, freeze protection and balancing for multiple modules.
Separate space-conditioning and hot-water duties
Provide simultaneous heating/cooling and domestic-hot-water demand schedules. Request selected output/input and temperature limits for each operating mode. Free-hot-water marketing does not establish unlimited hot water without extra energy or loss of useful space-conditioning capacity.
Obtain the actual hot-water interface and sanitary-water separation design where applicable. WCSHP's stated performance up to 5.0 must be accompanied by a test method and included load boundary before it is used for energy comparisons.
Commission modular sequencing and site performance
Freeze module count, stage sequencing, control protocol and responsibility for source/load pumps. Compare fault availability and service access for the actual installation. A compact body or modular label does not remove lifting/access checks.
Verify source/load temperatures and flows, useful duty/input, selected hot-water mode, alarms and restart. Include external pump and source-system energy when assessing project operation. Price, delivery, complete system efficiency and independently verified site outcomes remain unknown.
Qualify the resource
Confirm seasonal source limits and annual heat balance.
Freeze hydraulics
Approve separation, pump/valve scope and protection.
Accept all modes
Measure conditioning/hot-water duty, sequencing and external energy.
