Dunham-Bush offers DMA modular, DAHU combined and CAHU clean-type air-handling units across a published 1500–150000 m³/h family range. These closely related configurable AHU offers are compared on one page rather than split into similar catalogue entries. DMA describes selectable polyurethane/rock-wool insulation, sandwich casing, dual seals and an inclined drain pan. DAHU describes an insulated labyrinth casing and lists casing performance classes CD1, CL1, CB1 and CT1. CAHU adds positive-pressure supply, optional stainless components and a standard extended filter description.
The supplier describes more than thirty functional sections and optional temperature/humidity, frost, filter and fresh-air controls. No selected coil duty, fan pressure, filter class or cleanroom performance report was inspected. The published CRAA/AHRI and European-test statements remain supplier claims pending exact-model/report verification. None establishes aseptic operation or guaranteed absence of bacteria. A useful selection fixes an air-state schedule and section-by-section construction, then specifies access, drainage and controller scope for the actual application.
This is an equipment family; its range does not identify one orderable configuration.

| Parameter | Published value | Conditions and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Compared families | DMA modular, DAHU combined, CAHU clean-type | One page for related configurable AHUs; no model-variant URL multiplication. Source |
| Published airflow span | 1500–150000 m³/h | Does not determine cooling/heating duty or external pressure. Source |
| DMA casing features | Sandwich panels, selectable insulation, dual seals, inclined pan | No measured leakage/thermal schedule reviewed. Source |
| DAHU casing statements | Labyrinth insulation; CD1/CL1/CB1/CT1 classes | Supplier report/certification statements not independently checked. Source |
| CAHU design distinctions | Positive-pressure supply; optional stainless parts; extended filters | No guaranteed sterility or cleanroom qualification. Source |
| Optional functions | Filtration, humidification, heating, sound treatment, recovery and controls | Selected equipment list needed; not every function standard. Source |
Issue design and part-load outdoor/return/supply air states, fresh-air fraction, airflow, external pressure and noise requirements. Ask for a selected section schedule with coil capacities, water conditions, fan curves/input and pressure losses for clean and loaded filters. The common airflow range cannot establish any of those selected duties.
Show duct connections and room pressure relationships. Where CAHU is considered, define the actual positive-pressure arrangement and control response; a product name does not qualify a cleanroom or pharmaceutical process. Agree commissioning measurements for the whole air system.
Request selected casing thickness, insulation, access-door seals and tested mechanical/leakage/thermal performance at the ordered pressure. DAHU/CAHU list casing classes and certification claims, while DMA describes construction features. These are different types of source information and are not converted into equivalent independent tests.
Obtain the actual report, tested size/construction and exact current certification holder/model before making contractual comparisons. Do not apply a family report to every customised casing. Freeze shipping modules, site assembly, access clearances and the responsibility for assembled leakage testing.
Select actual filter grades, access side, spare sizes and changeover criteria. CAHU's extended-filter wording does not provide a numerical filter class; optional stainless parts require an ordered materials schedule. Define cleaning access and the site's hygiene procedures. No bacterial-elimination guarantee is inferred from the supplier's wording.
Choose humidifier technology and water/power requirements from the actual application, then obtain maintenance and drainage details. Approve pan slope, traps, condensate connections and service space against the selected pressure arrangement. Purification or disinfection options need their own applicable suitability evidence.
Identify which temperature/humidity/frost/filter alarms, dampers, sensors and actuators are included. DMA describes these as optional controls. Obtain a point list and cause-and-effect schedule and assign plant/BMS authority, startup and fault behaviour.
Acceptance should verify actual airflow/pressure, coil duty, casing performance within the report boundary, drainage, access and installed controls. The manufacturer selection-software claim does not replace an issued project selection. Current price, lead time and independently tested installed air quality remain unknown.
Compare modular construction, selected insulation, seals and drainage.
Verify labyrinth casing and the exact class/report boundary.
Specify positive-pressure, materials, filters and project hygiene qualification.
