Select DKFP around duct resistance and the actual access envelope
DKFP is Dunham-Bush's cabinet air-handling family, with 1500–15000 m³/h published airflow. The official offer separates L vertical double-panel, D slim ceiling double-panel and C ultra-slim ceiling single-panel constructions within the same family. Belt-driven fans and selectable static pressure position it for different ducted supply distances; no individual layout is turned into another URL. The described construction includes a multi-blade centrifugal fan, hydrophilic aluminium-fin coil and a one-piece condensate pan.
Optional humidification, filter grades, variable-speed/frost/filter-blockage controls and remote-jet applications are listed. None is assumed standard. The page supplies no selected coil capacity, water schedule, fan-pressure curve or sound-test conditions. A practical enquiry must reconcile available ceiling or plant-room space with the actual duct pressure, coil duty and access for belts, filters and drainage. Claims of no dripping or no condensation are not adopted as installation guarantees.

| Parameter | Published value | Conditions and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Published airflow | 1500–15000 m³/h | No selected pressure/coil rating schedule inspected. Source |
| Construction choices | L vertical double-panel; D slim ceiling double-panel; C ultra-slim single-panel | One family, distinct selected construction boundaries. Source |
| Fan arrangement | Belt-driven multi-blade centrifugal fan | Static-pressure choices described; actual fan curve required. Source |
| Coil/drain construction | Hydrophilic aluminium fins and one-piece condensate pan | No installation leak/condensation guarantee. Source |
| Optional equipment | Humidifier, filter grades, speed/frost/filter alarms and remote jet | Exact selected accessory/control schedule needed. Source |
Selection and application review
Match supply distance with an actual pressure calculation
Issue airflow, external duct/terminal resistance and selected filter pressure losses. Ask for the fan curve, speed, input and acceptable operating point. A belt-driven option and advertised supply-distance flexibility do not determine useful airflow through a particular duct system.
Obtain sound data with operating point and measurement basis if noise is contractual. The page's low-noise description is not a numeric room or outlet noise rating. Freeze variable-speed control only if ordered and supported by the actual motor/drive selection.
Choose construction by access as well as space
Compare L, D and C drawings for the proposed location, support loads, connection positions and service clearance. The double/single-panel distinction needs an issued insulation and casing specification; an ultra-slim label does not establish a particular dimension or equal thermal performance.
Reserve access for belt alignment/replacement, fan inspection, filters and coil cleaning. Confirm whether servicing requires removal of ceiling sections. A compact rendering is not evidence that the selected unit can be installed or maintained in the available void.
Approve coil, pan and optional humidifier interfaces
Request sensible/total coil capacity, entering/leaving air states, water temperatures/flow and pressure drop. Specify water quality, isolation and freeze protection as applicable. Hydrophilic-fin wording alone does not establish the selected cooling duty or cleaning frequency.
Obtain condensate connection, trap and pan access requirements and test drainage in the actual pressure arrangement. If a wet-media humidifier is ordered, define media thickness, water supply/treatment, drainage and access. Supplier no-leak/no-condensation language cannot guarantee a poorly connected installation.
Accept only the ordered filters and controls
Specify actual filter grade and clean/loaded pressure, alarm settings and replacement access. Obtain wiring/point lists for selected frost, filter-blockage and speed controls. Remote-jet configuration is an option requiring its own selected throw/duty evidence rather than a universal feature.
Commission airflow/pressure, coil duty, drainage, belt/fan operation and ordered alarms. Current price, delivery and selected acoustic performance remain unknown until issued documentation is obtained.
Calculate the air duty
Issue duct resistance, filter pressure and selected fan operating point.
Approve service space
Compare L/D/C drawings and access for belts, coils and filters.
Commission interfaces
Verify coil water duty, condensate and the installed optional controls.
