DCLCDZ is Dunham-Bush's HFO oil-free variable-speed centrifugal chiller, with a published range of 300–700 RT. The actual product description names R1233zd(E), a direct-drive two-stage centrifugal compressor, ceramic-bearing technology lubricated/cooled directly by refrigerant and a falling-film evaporator with active liquid-level control. Its bearing medium is therefore not assumed to be the same as the magnetic-bearing or gas-bearing families.
The webpage includes environmental and certification claims, but no independently checked refrigerant declaration or exact-model issuer record was available. Its statement that the refrigerant contains no chlorine is excluded from this brief rather than repeated as verified chemistry. The source's nominal range does not define a selected water-temperature rating, operating pressure or refrigerant charge. Buyers need the actual compressor/refrigerant documentation and restart/service procedure, especially when replacing equipment that used an oil lubrication system. CCS TOUCH and optional I-VISION/protocol integrations are described features, not a commissioned plant design.
This is an equipment family; its range does not identify one orderable configuration.

| Parameter | Published value | Conditions and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Published cooling range | 300–700 RT | No selected water-temperature/input schedule reviewed. Source |
| Named refrigerant | R1233zd(E) | Exact order charge, safety and environmental documents required. Source |
| Bearing design | Ceramic bearings with direct refrigerant lubrication/cooling | Supplier construction statement; operating envelope not issued. Source |
| Compressor/evaporator | Direct-drive two-stage centrifugal; falling-film evaporator | Active liquid-level control described. Source |
| Environmental wording limit | No-chlorine assertion excluded | No inspected primary chemistry declaration; no platform environmental guarantee. Source |
| Controls | CCS TOUCH; optional I-VISION and protocol choices | Selected registers/software and protective sequence required. Source |
Specify the selected model and request charge, SDS, nameplate, handling/recovery requirements and service procedures. The webpage names R1233zd(E); no refrigerant quantity or project safety classification is invented here. Ask for the supplier's current supporting environmental declarations if they affect the purchase.
The no-chlorine webpage sentence is not used as verified chemistry. Likewise, low-impact marketing language does not establish total lifecycle emissions or a building approval. Separate refrigerant documentation from rated machine performance and contractual certification scope.
Obtain the compressor/bearing lubrication and cooling circuit, permissible operating conditions and start/coast-down sequence. Ceramic bearings using refrigerant require the actual manufacturer's engineering limits; do not transfer oil-pump requirements from an oil-lubricated machine or magnetic-bearing procedures from another family.
Ask what emergency power-loss protection includes and what must remain supplied. Record restart lockouts, abnormal-temperature/pressure responses and technician access. Oil-free construction is not zero-service operation, and no unlimited bearing life is established.
Issue chilled/condenser-water temperatures, flows and allowable pressure drops, then obtain the selected capacity/input and operating envelope. Request the active liquid-level control sequence and its interaction with flow changes, load reduction and refrigerant distribution. The catalogue range does not define the minimum stable operating point.
Approve flow proving, isolation, drainage, cleaning and freeze-protection responsibilities in the plant drawing. The original family rendering shows equipment construction without settling the ordered footprint or service clearance.
Obtain exact-model rating and current AHRI/energy-certification evidence if required. The source's general certification statements were not checked against an issuer entry here. LEED-use wording is not a checked building or product certificate.
Freeze CCS TOUCH software, selected Modbus/Bacnet/Profibus integration, alarm history and plant-supervision authority. Acceptance should verify thermal/input duty, bearing/protective states, liquid-level response and the actual communications configuration. Current price, lead time and independent installed savings are unknown.
Verify selected charge, SDS, service and environmental documentation.
Approve ceramic-bearing support and falling-film operating map.
Witness restart, level/flow protection and ordered plant interfaces.
