EIX is Envicool's air/water heat exchanger for industrial control cabinets in hot, dusty or oily plants. Cabinet air circulates over a multi-row coil of large-diameter copper tubes, and site water carries the heat away, so the cabinet stays closed to the factory air. The unit mounts outside the cabinet or fully embedded in it. Units are grouped over RS485: the group shuts down when a cabinet door opens and starts at high temperature. Delayed start, alarms and a Chinese/English LCD are included. The image shows a slim unit with a display and water connections at the bottom.
EIX has no compressor, so it needs a water supply at a usable temperature. Envicool states a service life above ten years and better heat exchange than air/air units. For a quotation, send the cabinet heat load and internal air limit, the water temperature, flow, pressure and chemistry available, the mounting style and the group size.
This is an equipment family; ask the manufacturer to select the model that matches your duty.
Swipe the table, or focus it and use arrow keys, to read the conditions and sources.
| Parameter | Published value | Conditions and sources |
|---|---|---|
| Heat transfer | Air/water, multi-row large-diameter copper tubes | Cooling comes from site water; no refrigerant circuit. Source |
| Application | High heat density, dust and oil pollution | Ask for the enclosure rating and contaminant limits. Source |
| Mounting | External or fully embedded | Request openings, dimensions, supports and access. Source |
| Group control | RS485; shutdown on door opening and startup at high temperature | Ask for the thresholds and interlock wiring. Source |
| Other controls | Delayed start, alarms and CH/EN LCD | Request the delay time and protocol map. Source |
| Duty to request | Air/water temperatures, flow, pressure losses and thermal capacity | Selected for your cabinet and water. Source |
| Stated life and efficiency | >10-year service life; better heat exchange than air/air | Ask for the conditions behind both. Source |
Give the cabinet heat load and internal air limit with the water inlet temperature, flow, pressure and chemistry you have. Ask for heat removal and water and air pressure drops at that point; the capacity comes from this selection.
Agree who supplies pumps, water treatment, valves and the plant that rejects the heat outdoors. Compare EIX on price with a self-contained compressor unit only after adding those utilities.
Ask for the internal air circuit and cabinet cut-out drawings, seal details and the enclosure rating of the fitted unit. Envicool aims EIX at dusty and oily plants; ask for the dust and oil limits and the ingress test behind them.
Agree how the coil is cleaned and what materials suit your plant atmosphere, since copper tubes still foul and corrode in some conditions.
Get the air and water temperature envelope and how condensation is avoided or drained. Water colder than the cabinet dew point will condense, so set the minimum water temperature and plan leak handling inside the cabinet.
Request water pressure limits, connection sizes, isolation and permitted fluid chemistry, and agree filling, draining and cold-weather shutdown.
Ask for the RS485 protocol and register map, the group size and the thresholds for door-open shutdown and high-temperature start, and check them against the equipment in the cabinet. Door-open shutdown is a comfort and condensation function; machine safety needs its own design.
Agree the start delay, alarms and behaviour on loss of communication and on power return, with wiring and sensor positions on the drawings. The LCD is for operators; calibrated duty comes from a test.
Approve dimensions, support and service space for the chosen mounting, then measure heat removal and auxiliary input at agreed conditions. Test alarms and interlocks and check the water circuit for leaks after installation.
Temperatures, chemistry, flow and pressure, and who rejects the heat outdoors.
Openings, seals, air circulation and the dust, oil and moisture exposure.
Door and temperature groups, start delay, alarms and failure behaviour.
Ask Envicool to confirm in writing: the EIX model and heat removal at your water and cabinet temperatures; water flow, pressure drop and connection size; the minimum water temperature to avoid condensation; the enclosure rating when embedded or external; group size and switching thresholds; the RS485 register map; the basis of the ten-year life; and price and lead time.
