Compare traditional roof cooling at matched vehicle conditions

Cling’s DD traditional bus air-conditioning schedule covers six R134a models with passenger cooling rows and compressor displacements. It lists no electric heat-pump heating or battery-liquid duty. Its current-row heading is written as maximum power but uses amperes, so that entry must not be treated as watts or a complete mechanical-compressor energy demand. Obtain the actual compressor drive, electrical supply and speed-dependent performance from the selected vehicle configuration.

DD-06 lists 37 kW cooling, 6,000 m³/h evaporator airflow, 647 cc compressor displacement, 180 kg and a 3,380 × 1,840 × 210 mm roof assembly. A separate CM350 offer has the same nominal cooling/displacement but different air-package dimensions, mass and current row. This brief compares those real interfaces, with BFFD construction evidence as another bounded option, rather than multiplying each capacity row into a separate page.

Selection and application review

Select the compressor against real engine operating points

Issue the vehicle drivetrain, compressor mounting/drive arrangement and the speed range at idle and driving. Obtain the selected compressor model and cooling/input map under the intended conditions. A displacement in cc does not establish delivered cooling at arbitrary shaft speed or a complete operating-energy budget.

The DD table’s cooling values have an air-temperature footnote but omit humidity and compressor speed. Request those rating definitions before comparing pull-down or idle comfort. If cooling is needed while parked independently of the main engine, qualify a separate independent-drive package instead of assuming this roof table establishes it.

Read the current row without inventing electrical power

The source labels the row maximum power yet uses A. Preserve the current value and ask for voltage, operating-speed basis, included fans/controls and startup protection. Do not convert it to watts without a defined supply or call it total refrigeration-system input.

Close the actual wiring, compressor clutch/drive control and temperature regulation with the vehicle builder. Battery duty and heat-pump heating are not listed here. Any additional functions need a separately identified configuration and supporting schedule.

Compare DD and CM350 on complete roof and service interfaces

DD-06 and CM350 both list 37 kW and 647 cc but have different widths, heights, masses and current entries. Obtain the mounting points, roof openings, air distribution, service clearances and compressor/condensing arrangement for each. Shared nominal capacity does not make them installation substitutes.

The BFFD page names copper-tube/aluminium-fin construction and environmental fan speed control, with another electrical/mass schedule. Its width values vary unusually across models and its test footnote contains a text error. Require a current issued drawing and duty definition rather than correcting those entries or asserting one family is universally lighter or more efficient.

DD-06

180 kg; 1,840 mm width, 210 mm height; 90 A source row.

CM350

170 kg; 1,720 mm width, 250 mm height; 95 A source row.

BFFD option

Copper/aluminium construction; actual roof drawing and operating conditions need confirmation.

Verify airflow, acoustics and filtration at the installation

Request delivered airflow against the actual return/discharge resistance, passenger-zone distribution and idle/driving conditions. Catalogue evaporator flow does not prove that the installed duct system delivers the required air to every seating zone. Obtain noise/vibration evidence for the selected unit and vehicle arrangement.

The DD page promotes PM2.5 filtration but provides no efficiency class/test or loaded-filter pressure drop. Specify the required evidence, maintenance method and replacement interval from the actual approved filter. Do not turn a filtration feature into an untested passenger-health or complete air-quality guarantee.

Approve a current traditional cooling package

Provide vehicle loads, climate, drivetrain and roof/air drawings. Obtain the selected compressor/roof configuration, complete current and mechanical-input schedule, conditioned duty and service instructions. Agree destination conformity and the exact supplier/vehicle-builder responsibilities.

Acceptance should include idle/driving cabin performance, delivered air, electrical/control behaviour, mounting/leak checks and service access. Current price, stock, delivery and independent maintenance/weight-comparison results remain unknown. The brief preserves real model references without inventing a complete drive system.

  1. Select drive and thermal duty

Obtain speed-dependent cooling/input at actual vehicle conditions.

  2. Approve roof and airflow

Match mounting, duct resistance, filters and service route.

  3. Verify installed functions

Agree idle/driving, control and leak/access acceptance.
