Cling XDD school-bus cooling systems
A school-bus product label does not replace idle/door-cycle cooling, vehicle electrical approval or a defined EMC report.

Select XDD against the school route and body-builder interfaces
Cling’s XDD family is marketed for school-bus passenger cooling and includes XDD-02, XDD-03 and XDD-04T, kept together as one application family. The source names microchannel heat transfer and temperature-responsive fan speed, and gives R134a cooling, airflow, compressor displacement, mass and roof dimensions. It does not establish a complete vehicle safety approval, independently measured cabin result or the exact standard/report behind its EMC grade statement.
XDD-03 lists 23 kW cooling, 4,000 m³/h evaporator airflow, a 380/430 cc compressor option and a 140 kg, 2,752 × 1,848 × 220 mm body. The test footnote says indoor 40°C/outdoor 35°C without humidity or compressor-speed definitions. The maximum-power heading uses 65 A for this row. Define the actual compressor, wiring and school-route operating profile before using the nominal table to approve passenger cooling.
Published parameters and their scope
This is an equipment family; its range does not identify one orderable configuration.

| Parameter | Published value | Conditions and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| XDD-03 reference | 23 kW cooling; R134a; evaporator 4,000 m³/h; condenser 5,400 m³/h | Source test footnote indoor 40°C/outdoor 35°C; humidity and compressor speed unprovided. Source |
| Compressor choices | XDD-03 displacement 380/430 cc | Actual model and drive/mounting must be selected, not combined into one assumed compressor. Source |
| Roof body example | 2,752 × 1,848 × 220 mm; 140 kg | Suggested 8–10 m bus, not a structural or occupied-route approval. Source |
| Current-unit row | XDD-03 maximum-power heading: 65 A | Supply voltage and complete shaft/electrical demand missing; not 65 W. Source |
| Other family rows | XDD-02 19 kW; XDD-04T 28 kW | Nominal size choices within one school-bus family; source conditions and configuration must match. Source |
| EMC statement | National-standard level II claimed | No standard identifier, version, model scope or report reviewed; not complete vehicle certification. Source |
Selection and application review
Model cooling around the actual school route
Provide seat/occupancy load, solar exposure, stops, door-open times, idle periods and the route climate. Obtain the selected system’s cabin pull-down and steady duty at the relevant compressor speeds. Bus length alone cannot establish comfort during pickup queues or repeated door opening.
Request the humidity and speed definitions behind the shared test footnote. Heating or battery thermal functions are not listed in this XDD table. Do not transfer electric heat-pump capabilities or independent parked operation from other Cling offers.
Choose the compressor and wiring with the vehicle builder
The XDD-03 row offers 380/430 cc displacement. Obtain the actual compressor model, mounting, drive ratio/control and associated performance map. Different displacement choices need their own selection; the table does not prove identical output at every engine speed.
Read 65 A as an unqualified current entry beneath a mismatched power heading. Request voltage, included electrical loads, protection and control interfaces. Agree startup/idle behaviour and temperature-responsive fan control with the installed power architecture rather than deriving total energy use from an ampere row.
Obtain the exact EMC and destination approval scope
The page promotes level-II EMC under an unspecified national standard. Request the standard/version, tested model/configuration and complete report, then identify how it applies after installation on the actual bus. A supplier statement about components or a refrigeration assembly is not a complete vehicle approval.
Agree the destination’s applicable conformity and body-builder requirements with current evidence. The platform has not verified a child-specific safety test or passenger-health outcome. Product application branding should not be substituted for the relevant certified or measured vehicle functions.
Approve air distribution, mounting and routine access
Use the XDD-03 roof body and mass only as the source reference. Obtain roof supports, cut-outs, installed projections and drain/refrigerant routes. Confirm air delivery at duct resistance and passenger seating zones, plus the actual filter and service-access arrangement.
Microchannel construction and fan-speed features do not supply a noise value, cleaning interval or verified maintenance time. Request the required acoustic/airflow evidence and maintenance instructions. Reserve a safe removal/access route for fans and service components before the body builder freezes the ceiling and roof finish.
Accept the route-specific school-bus system
Issue the passenger/door/idle load profile, climate, drivetrain, roof/air drawings and approval requirements. Obtain the current selected XDD model, compressor choice and conditioned thermal/electrical schedule. Retain the supplier’s web-configuration disclaimer and approve an actual revision.
Acceptance should check cooling at agreed route conditions, delivered air, electrical/EMC documentation, mounting/leak tests and maintenance access. Price, firm delivery and independent school-route comfort results remain unverified. This source-backed brief defines the buying questions without multiplying three capacity rows into nominal pages.
Specify route loads
Include occupancy, stops, doors and idle cooling.
Approve actual components
Close compressor, current/voltage and EMC scope.
Validate installed delivery
Check cabin cooling, air distribution and service access.
