AIRSYS CHILLROW is an in-row cooling family placed alongside servers to remove heat close to the rack exhaust. The official page describes front horizontal supply and support for hot- or cold-aisle arrangements. It offers air-cooled and chilled-water forms; the DXA version is specifically described with a variable-speed compressor, EC fan and electronic expansion valve. Those DXA components should not be attributed to a chilled-water unit.
The page lists hot-swappable fans, a pull-out electrical box, a two-level condensate tray and several optional services. It does not provide a model-specific capacity, airflow, dimensional or sound schedule. Use the rack heat map and an approved thermal/hydraulic or refrigeration selection to choose the unit. A modular row can expand, but the webpage does not establish how much cooling remains when one unit is unavailable.
This is an equipment family; its range does not identify one orderable configuration.
Swipe the table, or focus it and use arrow keys, to read the conditions and sources.
| Parameter | Published value | Conditions and evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Installed concept | In-row, rack-adjacent cooling; front horizontal supply | Official family arrangement, not a coordinated hall layout or exact connection/dimensional drawing. Source |
| Cooling forms | Air-cooled / chilled-water versions | Separate forms with different upstream services and test conditions; no selected model reviewed. Source |
| DXA-specific equipment | Variable-speed compressor, EC fan and electronic expansion valve | Page explicitly attaches these components to DXA; not transferred to chilled-water construction. Source |
| Service construction | Hot-swappable fans, pull-out electrical box, two-level condensate tray | Supplier descriptions; safe procedure, isolation and removal clearance require current instructions. Source |
| Listed options | Electric heating/humidification, condensate pump, leak alarm and ATS | Options rather than proof every unit includes these functions. Source |
The supplier proposes front horizontal supply and draws air from a hot aisle. Obtain the complete selected airflow path, including which aisle is contained and where return air reaches each unit. Define rack exhaust/load distribution, bypass/leakage, obstructions and fan external pressure in the hall design. Proximity to the rack alone does not prove adequate inlet conditions.
Request sensible capacity and airflow at the actual return-air temperature and the selected cooling-medium conditions. The page's efficiency and hot-spot statements are design claims without a reviewed CFD or commissioning result for the buyer's room. The design should demonstrate normal and agreed failure/maintenance conditions.
DXA needs a selected refrigeration arrangement and the actual outdoor heat-rejection equipment and interconnecting circuit. Chilled water instead needs approved inlet/outlet water temperatures, flow, coil pressure drop and valve/pump/header responsibilities. The webpage contains no selection table for either form. Obtain the correct documents for the chosen construction.
Keep included controls and accessories tied to that variant. DXA's variable-speed compressor and electronic expansion valve are not evidence that the chilled-water version has a refrigeration compressor, and a water-valve solution is not automatically included just because a chilled-water option exists.

Request the named unit, water temperatures/flow, coil and valve pressure drops, connections and selected sensible capacity.
The manufacturer describes distributing cooling among smaller units and says other units can continue during a failure. That does not establish N+1 capacity or acceptable rack temperatures. Specify the unit/rack positions and the required failed-unit state, then obtain the remaining duty and airflow response. Identify common water, power and controller dependencies.
For phased growth, select the duty and control settings at both initial and future loads. Adding modules later needs planned piping/refrigeration, electrical and containment interfaces. A scalable family is not a complete expansion programme or proof that a new unit can be connected without an outage.
The hot-swap fan and pull-out electrical-box descriptions are useful maintenance features, but the page supplies no procedure or dimensions. Obtain the manufacturer's isolation and removal instructions and the clearance required from each service side. Do not assume every task can occur safely with the full unit operating.
The two-level tray, optional condensate pump and optional leak alarm have separate responsibilities. Define condensate collection/drainage, sensor locations, containment and alarm response for the chosen unit. Confirm whether heating, humidification and ATS are included and how their services affect the installation and maintenance envelope.
The supplier describes touchscreen operation, password levels and NetOne coordination, but not the exact controller, protocol, point map, licences or group sequence for this order. Obtain these deliverables, the lead/lag or load-sharing logic and the behaviour during a controller/network fault. Establish local access and remote-monitoring responsibilities.
A useful quotation includes the selected model and duty, actual medium interfaces, coordinated dimensions, included options, controls and the agreed normal/failure commissioning checks at racks. Price, current capacity/availability, acoustic conditions, warranty and conformity need current documents. The platform has not tested CHILLROW or verified an installed hall result.
