01 / UNDERSTAND THE EQUIPMENT

Select M-OD's complete electrical, wall and cooling configuration

MOBILECOOL-OUTDOOR, abbreviated M-OD, is an outdoor wall-mounted packaged air conditioner for telecom shelters, equipment rooms, edge facilities and containers. The C2105V01.0 catalogue distinguishes power supplies, cabinet sizes, control-box types and AC/DC supply-fan choices. Its model code does not make all those combinations interchangeable.

For 13E1C3 at 380 V/3Ph/50 Hz, the inspected page 18 table lists 13.2 kW total and 11.1 kW sensible cooling at 35 °C outdoors and 26.6/19.4 °C indoors. That column's sensible heat ratio is 0.84, despite the webpage's general SHR >90% statement. Use the exact schedule and condition instead of transferring a family headline to every model.

Selection and application review

Use the exact sensible capacity and supply market

The 13E1C3 column is one specific 50 Hz, three-phase schedule. Do not apply its current or MCA/MOP to the 220 V single-phase or 60 Hz variants. Require the full code, controller/fan options and a current performance/electrical sheet with the room's design return, outdoor condition and installed air resistance.

The 11.1 kW sensible figure, rather than 13.2 kW total, is the relevant starting point for equipment sensible load. The table's SHR is 0.84. The broad webpage claim of greater than 90% is not used to overwrite that number, and neither value proves the temperature at a particular IT inlet. Agree air distribution and remaining duty with the room designer.

Settle whether direct-air cooling is included and usable

The webpage says natural cooling is standard, but the mechanical-performance table footnote calls natural cooling optional. Obtain an explicit delivered equipment/controls list. If included, close intake/exhaust, filters, humidity sensing, outdoor-air eligibility and mode transitions; the 10.3 kW example depends on a 12 °C temperature difference.

A family saving of up to 90% is not a measured result for this shelter. Request weather/load-based annual energy and auxiliary-power calculations. Establish the mechanical mode's duty while outdoor air is warm, humid or contaminated and natural cooling is blocked. Product working-temperature limits are different from useful ventilation conditions.

Specify DC emergency fan power separately from the compressor

The brochure lists standard AC EC supply fans and optional DC EC fans for ventilation during AC failure. It also pairs different external control boxes with AC/DC fan configurations. A DC fan option does not make the compressor battery-powered or guarantee full-load refrigeration during an outage.

Require the DC input/polarity range, controller and damper supply, electrical protection and available battery duty for the ordered arrangement. Define emergency ventilation limits against outdoor temperature and load. Specify the cooling/power failure sequence and remaining room temperature instead of treating a fan backup as N+1 refrigeration.

Mechanical cooling supply

Select the actual voltage/phases/frequency and complete equipment electrical schedule.

DC ventilation option

Approve DC fan, controller/damper supply and the site's available battery duty.

Emergency thermal result

Check weather and heat load; ventilation does not automatically retain the nominal refrigeration output.

Approve wall structure, weather exposure and service access

The source describes an outdoor package with installation accessories, through-wall bolts, seals and supply/return grilles. Obtain exact opening, fixing, load and sealing drawings for the chosen cabinet and have the supporting structure reviewed. The 13E1C3 table lists 287 kg net and 311 kg gross; do not use shipping weight interchangeably with installed structural load.

Obtain current rain, drainage, airflow spacing and component-removal requirements. Corrosion packages are options with different coils, fasteners and cabinet materials; a generic double-coating description does not establish coastal suitability. Also select any high/low-ambient extension explicitly rather than treating optional −40/+53 °C operation as standard.

Close controls, filters and current conformity evidence

The catalogue distinguishes internal and external control boxes with single-, dual- or multi-unit schemes, and describes RS485 Modbus RTU. Require the quoted topology, point map, permissions, lead/lag behaviour and response to control or network loss. Different box power sources may affect common dependencies and maintenance, but no unreviewed availability guarantee is inferred.

Confirm the selected filter set, pressure alarm, optional filter-protection and spring-return damper, plus safe shutdown/restart and service procedures. Commission the actual mechanical/direct-air/failure modes against agreed room conditions. AHRI/ETL/CE statements on the webpage are supplier claims without a reviewed exact-model listing here; obtain current market-specific documents. The platform has not tested the unit or measured site savings.
