01 / UNDERSTAND THE EQUIPMENT

Choose a portable process-air heater for the actual connection

HBO's portable electric hot-air family is presented in the official illustrated page as a 3–10 kW offer. Its photograph shows a compact heater casing, carry handles, four feet, a side-mounted fan, a round hot-air outlet and a front control panel. The family poster groups different physical sizes and heating-power alternatives; they are consolidated here rather than turned into one URL for every kW label. The equipment is a process-air heater offer, not an independently verified whole-room heating solution.

The original detail poster identifies a 304-stainless outlet, aluminium-alloy handle and K-type thermocouple. These are supplier construction statements, with no inspected material certificate or sensor-calibration report. Unlike the larger filtered and high-pressure pages, the portable poster reviewed here does not give a complete numerical airflow/pressure schedule. Selection therefore begins with the required delivered air and heat duty, available electrical supply and a documented mounting/control arrangement, rather than relying on portable as a promise of plug-and-play suitability.

Selection and application review

Select the electrical configuration before the power label

The official page lists multiple electrical configurations rather than one universally applicable supply. Identify the exact ordered heating rating, voltage, phase, frequency and complete package input, including the fan. Ask for the selected circuit, connection and protective-device requirements in issued documents. A family photograph with a cable does not prove compatibility with an ordinary household outlet.

Keep 3, 5 and 10 kW style alternatives within this family. They do not establish model-specific current, cable or plug data by inference. Verify the actual nameplate and quotation before deciding whether the available supply can serve the process.

Determine the delivered flow and temperature together

The 3–10 kW poster is a heating-power description, not a heat-output guarantee at any airflow. Issue entering-air conditions, required delivered flow, required outlet temperature and the pressure losses of the intended connection. Obtain the selected fan curve and thermal rating on that basis.

The portable page's reviewed illustrations do not supply the same numerical flow/pressure envelope as other HBO families. Those other values are not copied here. General quick-heating language also does not establish a warm-up time, room-area rating or measured process temperature tolerance.

Read the sensor and materials with the correct scope

The detail poster labels the outlet as 304 stainless steel, the handle as aluminium alloy and the sensor as a K-type thermocouple. The heater-construction picture separately describes stainless/insulation/heater-core integration. Confirm the actual ordered materials and the sensor location/calibration; the source does not establish that every casing or air-contact component has one material grade.

Ask how the selected temperature control relates to the process measurement point and request independent high-limit protection and the fan/heater sequence. Promotional precision and five-year reliability statements are not an inspected calibration or field study. No continuous-operation lifetime or low failure percentage is guaranteed here.

Define portable handling and connected installation

Handles and feet make a different layout from a large wheeled package. Obtain selected mass, dimensions, support and handling instructions. The image does not establish lifting ratings or permission to reposition energized/hot equipment. Confirm outlet connection, accessible-surface limits, service clearance and guarding for the installed arrangement.

Specify the actual medium and contamination. Neither portability nor a generic certification collage supplies explosive-atmosphere, outdoor-ingress or specialized hygienic qualification. If the application needs those properties, obtain exact selected-model evidence instead of extending the family name.

Accept the package on the real process duty

Request a thermal/run check with delivered flow, outlet temperature and complete input under the specified inlet and duct conditions. Agree checks of the selected protection/interlock design, sensor response and fan trip behaviour. Confirm spare heater, fan/control parts and the stated warranty in the order.

Compare the same fan, heater, electrical configuration and accessories between quotes. Independent efficiency, noise, current price and delivery are unknown. A small compact construction can help deployment only when its electrical, air and control boundaries are actually resolved.

  1. Confirm supply and assembly

Choose rating, voltage/phase, fan and issued connection requirements.

  2. Match the process air

Get a selected flow/pressure/temperature rating for the actual duct and inlet conditions.

  3. Verify before routine operation

Agree thermal, electrical and protective-control acceptance on the ordered assembly.
