HBO wall-mounted fan heaters: supply, airflow and mounting

HBO's wall-mounted fan heater heats a space directly, with no ducts. The photographs show a white rectangular casing with mounting flanges, a guarded axial fan and a temperature dial on the front. The standard version on the parameter block runs on AC 380 V / 50 Hz with 5–10 kW of electric heating and an air volume printed as 30–200 cubic metres per minute. HBO's general supply field says other configurations are available, so the 380 V figure applies to the standard version shown.

What a buyer needs to know is how the heat spreads in the room or process area. The power and airflow ranges are no room-coverage table, and HBO publishes no air throw, sound data, mounting load or temperature-uniformity test. Send HBO the heat load, room size, mounting height and supply, and ask for the selected model with its airflow, throw and installation drawing.

Selection and application

One supply, one heater, one airflow

The standard version takes 380 V at 50 Hz with 5–10 kW of heating, and HBO offers other supplies on request. Get the nameplate, phase and total input including the fan for the model you order, and plan a fixed electrical connection to suit.

The airflow range is printed per minute. Ask HBO for the rated airflow of the selected fan, its reference conditions and the heater output it is paired with; no curve links each airflow to a power option.

How the heat reaches the space

Give the heating load, the mounting position, the room shape, the incoming air temperature and the hours of use. Ask for air throw, spread and temperature rise for the selected unit. The warm-air arrows in the brochure are an illustration.

Ask for sound data at the ordered fan speed, and for the ambient and air conditions the heater can work in. If the space is dusty, humid or classed for explosive atmospheres, say so and ask whether a suitable version exists. The 350°C outlet range of HBO's duct-connected circulating package belongs to that product.

Brackets, clearances and protection

The photographs show flanges and guards; HBO publishes no unit mass, fixing schedule or load rating. Ask for support and clearance instructions and have the wall or frame checked for the load. Leave access to service the fan, heater and controls.

Ask which temperature sensor and control are fitted, whether an independent high-limit cut-out is included, and how the heater responds to fan failure and power return. The front dial is a setpoint knob; ask for its accuracy. Confirm guarding, hot-surface limits and the enclosure protection class before mounting it outdoors or in wet areas.

Commissioning on the wall

Test the delivered airflow, temperature rise, total input and the protection sequence on the ordered model. If even heating across the space matters, agree measuring points and conditions with your designer; fan volume alone tells you little about uniformity.

Compare offers including brackets, electrical connection, controls and service parts. Ask for price, lead time and the warranty with each.

  1. Describe space and supply

Heat load, room shape, mounting position and electrical supply.

  2. Get the selection data

Fan airflow and throw, temperature rise, sound and installation limits.

  3. Measure on site

Air, heat, input and protection tests, plus room temperatures if needed.

Confirm in writing before ordering wall fan heaters

Ask HBO to confirm in writing: the supply, phase and total input of the model offered; the airflow figure and its unit; air throw and temperature rise at your mounting height; sound at a stated distance and fan speed; unit mass and bracket load; the high-limit cut-out and the response to fan failure; the enclosure protection class; and price, lead time and warranty.
