XMint multi-split cooling: circuit options, indoor terminals and pump backup
XMint is Envicool's composite multi-split cooling system for data centres. One outdoor plant combines liquid-pump technology, variable-frequency compression and an evaporative condenser, and serves a network of indoor terminals: in-row units, rear-door heat exchangers, fan walls and heat-pipe CRAC units. Envicool describes two stages of heat exchange and 1+1 liquid-pump redundancy with online maintenance. Its illustration shows several indoor terminals tied to outdoor equipment; the piping layout for an order comes with the selection.
The page headline says oil-free, and further down the oil-free magnetic or gas-bearing compressor system is listed as an option, next to text on oil return. Ask which compressor your selection uses. Envicool gives an AEER above 15; ask for the conditions behind it. For a quotation, send room and rack loads, terminal positions, air conditions and site climate, and ask for the compressor, pump and condenser configuration with the network limits.

| Pump backup | 1+1 liquid-pump redundancy; online maintenance | Request isolation points, capacity after a pump fault and the service method. Source |
| Compressor choice | Oil-free magnetic/gas-bearing system offered as an option | The page also discusses oil return; ask which compressor is quoted. Source |
| Indoor terminals | In-row, rear-door, fan wall and heat-pipe CRAC terminals | Choose the combination for your project and ask for its compatibility. Source |
| Stated efficiency | AEER >15 | Ask for the climate, weighting and system boundary used. Source |

Selection and application
Which compressor and which modes
Ask whether your order has the oil-free magnetic or gas-bearing compressor or another supported design. The answer decides the oil-management requirements written on the circuit drawing.
Request the conditions for pump-only free cooling, combined pump and compressor running, and any other mode at your climate. Envicool describes a minimum pressure ratio below 1.3 for the architecture; ask for the operating envelope and controls of the selected model.
Indoor terminals on one refrigerant network
Give room and rack loads, air conditions and where each terminal will sit. Pick from the supported terminal types and ask for ratings at the network conditions, since a terminal on a shared network can deliver less than its standalone figure.
Request allowed pipe lengths and height differences, connections and isolation valves, refrigerant charge and any balancing needs. Envicool says longer pipelines can be accommodated; the numerical limits come from the selection.
The 1+1 pumps and online maintenance
Envicool states 1+1 liquid-pump redundancy and pump replacement while the system runs. Ask for the drawing that shows isolation, control logic and the cooling left after a pump trips or is isolated. Pump redundancy covers one subsystem; system-wide N+1 needs its own design.
List which compressor, condenser, terminal and power faults reduce the duty, and agree monitoring, interfaces and the mode transitions to be commissioned. Ask for a failure-mode or redundancy test plan.
Evaporative condenser through the seasons
The condenser runs dry or with evaporative assistance. Give the site design conditions and ask for capacity and input in each mode, with water, treatment and maintenance needs. Envicool's no-freezing wording needs a cold-weather design and operating limits behind it.
Request condenser dimensions, access, acoustic data, water use and footprint for the selected set, and check that all pumps, EC fans and water auxiliaries appear in total input.
From AEER figure to delivered system
Ask what conditions, weighting and loads produce the AEER above 15, and compare annual calculations on the same climate, load profile and terminal network. At acceptance, check terminal duties, total input, modes and failure behaviour, and collect circuit, piping, component and commissioning records.
Fix the architecture
Compressor option, pumps, condenser and supported modes.
Select terminals and network
Loads and layout in; model ratings, pipe limits and failure-state duty back.
Test the delivered circuit
Thermal and input tests, mode transitions and pump failover, with a stated efficiency boundary.
Confirm in writing before ordering XMint
Ask Envicool to confirm in writing: whether the compressor is oil-free and its type; the refrigerant and charge; each terminal model and its rating on the shared network; pipe length and height limits; capacity after a pump fault; condenser water use and freeze protection; how the AEER figure was calculated; and price, lead time and warranty.
