Chillers: compare suppliers by duty, fluid and scope

Chillers on this directory range from small instrument and battery chillers to large centrifugal plant. Start with the duty and the fluid, then compare offers that state the same conditions and the same scope.

Large water-cooled plant

Water-cooled screw chillers are the largest group: the Hon Ming water-cooled screw family, the Zhongda water-cooled screw catalogue, the Sinuo water-cooled screw chiller and the Xinwuxin screw chillers. Centrifugal options come from Dunham-Bush, whose DCLCDX two-stage family, DCLC(D)M magnetic-bearing family, DCLCDA gas-bearing family and DCLCDZ ceramic-bearing chiller differ mainly in bearings, lubrication and turndown, and from the Xinwuxin integrated centrifugal chillers. Special duties

Several families are defined by a duty rather than a size. The Dunham-Bush DCLCDT twin-head chiller is offered for ice making, the WCFX-RH family adds heat recovery, the WCDSX-D family handles low-temperature fluids, and the Changde Binglun water-cooled brine units serve brine and glycol circuits. Air-cooled machines such as the Xinwuxin air-cooled screw chillers and the Dunham-Bush outdoor screw units add ambient limits and defrost options. The Takamura TS-C-UNI chiller integrates evaporative heat rejection, and the Dunham-Bush integrated cooling station moves pumps and controls into a factory package.

Process, instrument and battery cooling

Precision process chillers have their own interfaces: the AIRSYS MEDICOOL imaging-equipment chillers, the AIRSYS VENUS-CS10LT low-temperature chiller and the VENUS-ECS05 process chiller hold fluid temperatures for tools and scanners. Envicool's EIW micro chillers cool instruments and its BattCool-C and EMW chillers serve energy-storage batteries.

How to compare offers

Ask every supplier for capacity and input at the same leaving and entering temperatures, fluid and fouling allowance, with full-load and part-load points; our chiller quotation guide sets out the worksheet.
